What is Crontab generator?
Crontab Generator — Free crontab generator — build cron expressions from five schedule fields and get a plain-English description. Validates ranges, steps, and names. Runs in your browser.
Zero dependencies — an original validator and describer written for this tool. Each field is parsed into comma-separated parts supporting *, */step, a-b, a-b/step, and named values; every number is range-checked (minute 0–59, hour 0–23, day-of-month 1–31, month 1–12, day-of-week 0–7 with 7 normalized to Sunday). Non-contiguous or reversed ranges are rejected with specific errors. The describer expands each field into its value list and renders plain English, including the classic cron quirk: when both day-of-month and day-of-week are restricted, cron fires when EITHER matches. Everything runs client-side; nothing is uploaded.
